​Comprehensive school-based health care legislation would increase children and adolescents’ access to primary and mental health care services.​ Connecticut has made a wise investment in and commitment to the health of children and adolescents through state funding for SBHCs. ​SBHCs are also an important mechanism to manage physical and mental health barriers that reduce academic success. SBHCs improve academic performance,increase attendance and reduce dropout rates.
