Family Nurse Practitioner
Kendall Stenner is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Her experience as an inpatient nurse led her to pursue a higher degree so that she might advocate for patient care, patient rights, and ethical consideration of practice on a provider level. As an APRN you treat the entire person, not just the disease. Her goal as an APRN is to bring a more educational and holistic approach to her traditional bedside nursing care.
She was an RN at Yale New Haven Hospital for 10 years; working in general medicine, women’s oncology, and at the covid sites. From there, she transitioned to The Childrens Center of Hamden where she worked as the Nursing Supervisor while finishing out her graduate school education. As an RN who only worked with the adult population for the last 10 years, this was an entirely new experience for her. Being a nurse for children with trauma and behavioral issues was a type of nursing that required more than medical bedside care; it required a new way of listening to and understanding her patients to help treat them.
Kendall earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from The University of New Haven before returning to school to obtain her Nursing degree from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. She earned her graduate degree from Simmons University.
During her transition into that new role, Kendall also began one of her graduate school clinical rotations at Integrated Health Services (IHS). It was there that she gained a deeper passion for treating and educating today’s youth. Kendall has a passion for health, wellness, education, and advocating for each and every patient and is excited to bring that passion to the youth at IHS.
